At BCA Community is at the centre of everything we do. We strive to create spaces where Black creatives can connect, collaborate and grow together. Through our workshops, and events and celebrations, we aim to create a thriving environment where we can share our stories, experiences, and creative practice. 

BLACKOut Series

Online interviews, 2020

Developed by a team of digital black creatives the Black Out Series presents 30 minute Facebook live interviews that were broadcasted at noon every Sunday across thirteen weeks in 2020, they explored what it means to be a black kiwi artist and presented an opportunity for our creatives to respond to the challenges presented by Covid-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement here in Aotearoa.

2020

The BCA Black Lives Matter Archive is a repository of images, videos, narratives and experiences related with the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests in Aotearoa. The archive aims to store and preserve our collective memory of this event.

Self Care Sundays

June 2023

Self care Sundays are BCA's offerings to contribute to our community's wellbeing after a very hectic beginning of 2023 with extreme weather affecting many families in Auckland. These will feature Kimetic Yoga, Somatic Healing Body work and a Dance workshop.
