Swift Divides: Open call for Black Queer Creatives

Black Creatives Aotearoa invites proposals from Black Queer arts practitioners for Swift Divides at the Basement theatre!

Practitioners will receive an artist fee as well as support from the BCA at each stage of development, including curatorial support, promotion, public programming, graphic design, and installation.


Applications will be assessed by the Artistic Director, Producer and Curator of Swift Divides.


Our open call will close at 11:59 pm Friday 3rd September 2021 and interviews will commence the following week.

We will inform all applicants of their outcome by 10th of September.


Applications must include:

A 500 word outline of your proposed work. We seek proposals that are comprehensive and to be further developed in conversation with the director and curator.


Please include

- Contact details (Name, email address, phone number).

- Proposed title, concept and context, outline the physical and/or digital specifics of the project, individual works and equipment required.


4-5 examples of your previous work (written, visual, audio and video documentation encouraged in links to websites).


Artist CV with a bio that explains your background and experience (no more than one page).


File to be formatted as NAME_PROPOSAL.pdf
